The candidate's responsibilties will be to deploy the release of new technologies as well as design, install, configure, maintain and perform system integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities, and hardware for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) NextGen Integration and Evaluation Capability (NIEC) laboratory at the William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Pomona, NJ.
Additional responsibilites include:
- Responsible for trouble shooting server problems as reported by users
- Researches, evaluates, and recommends software and hardware products
- Maintains a secure systems environment
- Installs new servers and maintains the server infrastructure
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a Position of Public Trust.
Hybrid schedule available but required onsite at the facility a minimum of 3 days per week.
Facility location: WJHTC, Pomona, NJ
Education: Bachelor's Degree in information assurance, information management, information technology, computer science, or degree in related field. Years of experience may be substituted for degree.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilties:
- 2+ yrs experience of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
- Experienced in Red Hat administration and troubleshooting
- Understanding of system security best practices
- Proven experience in shell scripting
- Analytical and written and verbal communication skills
