What You'll Do:

  • Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.

  • Check various pump brands i.e., Goulds, Berkley, crane Demings, etc {turbine pumps} and check various pump brands i.e. Gould's, Schurco, GIW, etc. {slurry pumps}.

  • Keep records of pump maintenance logged to ensure the prevention of damage.

  • Obtain information to help with costly down times to prevent costly damage to the pump

  • Perform routine maintenance on pumps such as grease motor bearings, replace packings, check and fill oil levels, check psi for proper operation, and prevent downtimes.

  • Keep and maintain standard lube manual practices.

  • Record and Replace bad pipe fittings etc.

  • Working with the water crew to help with repairs of pumps and or water-related projects.

  • Working with the plant construction group as needed on projects throughout the division.

  • Working with plants on EMS routine maintenance i.e. oil changes/grease changing/replacing v-belts, adjusting or replacing impellers, and helping with replacing pumps.

  • Will work various hours of the day/night to complete the inspections/repairs needed.

  • Will be asked to help in various job assignments {inspections that comply with plant construction group].

  • Travel to various sites across the region (up to 75% overnight travel).

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Education. Must have a high school degree or its equivalent.

Functional Knowledge. Must have a general knowledge of plumbing fitting and parts. Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints. Must have welding knowledge.

Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
