Job Summary/Objective:

The Polymer Chemist will be responsible for conducting polymer testing, analysis, and providing accurate

and concise reports in support of new product development, cost out efforts, compliance, manufacturing

process support, and commercial business support.

Key Responsibilities

* Must be a creative problem solver, with the adaptability to develop novel, but practical testing solutions.

* Candidate must be able to read and interpret standards, prepare samples, and perform tests according

to the prescribed standards.

* Assignments will be broad in nature and require considerable judgment, ingenuity, and originality.

* Candidate must be physically able to function in a hands-on, detail-oriented, time-constrained

laboratory environment, with 80% of the time spent on testing to standards.

* Manage multiple projects with differing priorities, functioning in support of a market-driven

environment.

* In this position, interaction with all levels of management and interface with multiple divisions may

be necessary to complete work assignments.

* Responsible for preparing, with keen attention to detail, customer focused formal reports as well as

prepare and submit UL/CSA data packets for new product listing.

* Responsible for maintaining a clean and neat work area through 5S principles.

* Responsible for maintaining testing equipment and ensuring testing integrity through routine quality

checks and record review.

Education, Experience, and Skills

Required

Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's

Specialized Degree: Chemistry or other science related degree

Years of Experience: 2-5

Field of Expertise: Wire and Cable/Lab

Certificates: *Experience with UL/CSA standards *Experience with Wire and Cable Manufacturing processes *Experience with DSC, DMA, FTIR, TGA. GCMS, XRF *Experience with Formulating polymers or polymer like materials *Strong team player that communicates effectively across multiple teams
