Job Description

A C&F Billing & Collections Analyst provides financial and administrative support to the surety division under the direction of the Team Lead by ensuring that all premium receivables are billed and collected in accordance with established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner and provides outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers.

Operations Billing & Collections - Analyst

Primary Location: Northeast United States or Remote

What YOU will do:

    Assists with the analysis and review of outstanding premiums and reconciliation of payments for the Surety book of business.
  • Assists with the reconciliation of large agency accounts, working with all teams to ensure payments are applied correctly in order to reduce the outstanding balance.
  • Collaborates with UW team regarding the collection of past due premium.
  • Assists in the research of billing disputes, account reconciliation, provides payment history as needed and responds immediately or on the same day they are received.
  • Collaborates with operations UA team in the reconciliation of accounts, ensures premium transactions are correctly represented in the billing system.
  • Assists in collaborating with the corporate Billing and Collections cash team regarding the application of cash, the transfer and correction of misapplied cash and the write-off of small, aged open balances.
  • Communicates any customer service issues to the Team Lead.


What YOU will bring to C&F:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred) and/or three plus years of equivalent experience related to Surety or P&C Insurance within a remittance team.
  • Demonstrate past success managing remittance processes.
  • Self-starter who works closely with Operations, Underwriting and Corporate Remittance teams.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • An enthusiastic and positive attitude.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Ability to take ownership and see tasks through to completion.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of remittance and cash processes.
  • Customer focused.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel.

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $29,600.00 to a maximum of $67,500.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
