Description
  • Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans, and kitchen scales
  • Study each recipe and order provisions to meet business demands and adhere to recipe standards
  • Ensure food in a prepared in accordance with mandated ticket times
  • Delegate tasks to kitchen staff and ensure quality and completion of task
  • Inform wait staff about daily specials
  • Ensure food is prepared according to specifications for consistency and to drive revenue
  • Train, assist, lead and supervise staff and assist as needed
  • Slightly modify recipes to meet customers' needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
  • Monitor food stock and place orders
  • Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Conduct quarterly comparable studies of similar venues (food and costs)

Qualifications

Experience
*Minimum 5 years' experience as an Assistant Chef or Chef *Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers) *Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques *Culinary school diploma preferred (preferred)
