Position Description
The Optical Engineer will use their practical technical skills and manufacturing know-how to develop new, and improve existing, optical gyroscope-based Inertial Measurement Units, their subassemblies, and components. In addition, they will help develop new optical characterization stations and techniques to further the understanding of core technologies around these devices.

General Requirements
* BS degree in Optical Engineering or a related Science/Engineering discipline from an accredited educational institution
* 5+ years of hands-on experience with one or more of the following: gas lasers, plasma physics, fiber optics, photonic integrated circuits, laser or fiber-optic gyroscopes, optical metrology.
* Experience working effectively in multidisciplinary teams, both technical and business related
* Experience in planning and tracking tasks with a commitment to meet schedule and budget objectives
* Experience supporting reliability design and testing
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
