Job Description


POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for expense report review and approval. Also involved in day-to-day invoice entry and payment of CenterPoint's invoices and provides support for the Accounts Payable Team and Accounting Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to)

  • Process, approve and manage Certify (expense report system) personal and corporate expense report processing. Role will be the point of contact for all expense report questions and train new employees on the system.
  • Completes work consistent with corporate process and policies.
  • Review and process certain invoices in Yardi (internal AP system) as part of an AP team.
  • Process payments on invoices via wire, check and ACH.
  • Role will also create journal entry and other special requests .
  • Provide backup and support to Staff Accountant (Job Accountant). Reviewing and approving certain JobCost related items.
  • Performs special projects as directed by the Accounting Department.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required and three or more year(s) of accounts payable experience.
  • Expense report processing and management experience required.
  • Bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Proficient with computers, standard corporate operating systems and applicable software applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Service to key customers is prompt and courteous.
  • Ability to perform actions and make decisions with integrity and sound judgment.
  • Displays the self-initiative and dedication necessary for successful work completion.
  • Technical proficiency in all aspects of bookkeeping and accounts payable processing
  • Flexible with respect to work schedule.
  • Excellent organizational ability.
  • Able to handle a moderately stressful and demanding environment.
  • Experience with Certify or similar expense report management tool preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Yardi preferred but not required.
