Job Description

Compliance Analyst

The Compliance Department is responsible for the submission of policy forms, rate filings and advertisement to the respective state departments of insurance, as well as reviewing marketing materials for adherence to the various state unfair trade practices and advertising guidelines. In addition, the Compliance department works with the underwriting areas in ensuring that all policies and/or certificates are properly issued. It is the responsibility of Compliance to conduct audits to further ensure that all policies, certificates and advertising have been properly issued.

The Compliance Analyst will operate under the direction of the Compliance AVP and/or Compliance lead and is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and regulatory compliance of all assigned products offered by Crum & Forster A&H Division, including product development and filings with state insurance departments.

What you will do for C&F:

    Draft policy forms for A&H and occasionally for P&C products (Product Development)
  • Perform filing of rates, rules and forms
  • Communicate with regulators to secure approval in the required jurisdictions
  • Communicate with state insurance departments and other regulatory agencies as required
  • Review advertising material (including websites) to ensure compliance with internal and state regulatory guidelines
  • Respond to routine compliance-related requests and inquiries from the various business areas
  • Research compliance issues and provide responses to business areas
  • Assist in reviewing and assessing regulatory changes in state insurance department statutes, regulations, bulletins, etc. along with general industry trends to determine filing and regulatory requirements
  • Stay current on changes and developments that influence product design and filing requirements
  • Assist in research and communication of compliance implications of new products and enhancements as well as other corporate strategic initiatives
  • Establish relationships with business units to foster teamwork
  • Participate in documenting procedure manuals and processes as needed
  • Review integrity of policy issue documents and facilitate resolution with inconsistencies in the information
  • Ensure Products Status Charts are up to date in real time
  • Conduct compliance audits as assigned
  • Perform other related duties, including short or long-term projects, as assigned by Management

What you will bring to C&F:

  • Bachelors/Associates degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience in the insurance industry
  • Working knowledge of group accident & health and/or life insurance product offerings
  • Product filing experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance aspects of the insurance industry, as well as compliance laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Flexible and open to an ever changing, fast paced environment
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy and ability to multitask
  • Strong research, decision-making, reporting and analytical skills
  • Ability to understand, synthesize and convey complex data
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines
  • Solid judgment and discretion required to interpret and apply regulatory guidelines, company policies and procedures

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $50,600.00 to a maximum of $115,300.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
