Job Description

Position Summary:

The incumbent is responsible for the comprehensive maintenance of facilities and equipment to ensure operational safety and reliability. This role encompasses both scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and meticulous documentation of repair outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently execute routine preventative maintenance and significant repairs on a range of electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the logistics center.
  • Preserve the operational condition of all logistics center equipment, including the meticulous maintenance of tools and accurate inventory management.
  • Participate in on-the-job training across various maintenance skill sets, including equipment repair and facility upkeep.
  • Provide interim support for the Maintenance Manager during their absence.
  • Develop innovative operational solutions and strategies specifically concerning conveyor controls and associated production machinery.
  • Uphold the high-quality appearance of equipment, facilities, and surrounding grounds.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance work assignments through computerized systems.
  • Conduct minor welding tasks adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Resolve conveyor system malfunctions, particularly related to controls and computer systems.
  • Assign and monitor work progress through computerized systems.
  • Troubleshoot and install electrical circuitry and complex control components.
  • Offer recommendations for critical parts and supply stocking levels.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on forklifts and stock pickers, along with hydraulic system repairs.
  • Install and repair Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) with Ethernet distributed control.
  • Conduct thermal imaging analysis on electrical cabinets and heat wrap equipment.
  • Fulfill additional duties as delegated.
  • Adhere to attendance and punctuality standards.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Technical background with a preference for Electrician Field of Study.
  • High School Diploma required; additional certifications in Mechanics, Pneumatics, and Hydraulics preferred.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting conveyor systems and electrical control systems.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems ranging from 24VDC to 480V 3phase.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and replacing electric motors, mechanical drives, and gearboxes.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, fire suppression systems, and conveyor systems.
  • Basic welding skills and understanding of welding equipment safety.
  • Mechanical repair experience including bearings, chains, and belts.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management software (CMMS).
  • Ability to manage equipment removal and installation and oversee spare parts inventory.
  • Understanding of thermal imaging benefits and usage for electrical equipment.
  • Compliance with attendance policies and commitment to safety standards.
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours, overtime, and occasionally be on call.
  • Thorough understanding of Lock Out-Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and record-keeping.
  • Ability to collaborate with external contractors for project-related tasks.

Compensation: $30 per hour.
