Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Senior Storage Infrastructure Engineer to join our Global Storage Infrastructure team.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Storage Infrastructure Engineer to join our Global Storage Infrastructure team. The qualified candidate will possess strong experience in storage platform design and support for internal and external cloud hosted application storage. This position requires the individual to have strong technical skills, be self-motivated, and possess excellent communication skills. This position is primarily responsible for the architecture and administration of the firm's global distributed systems storage environment, optimizing the current Storage Management process, and providing guidance and support for strategic Storage roadmap including implementing new storage management tools. The Storage Infrastructure Engineer will work with the Server and Network Infrastructure groups to ensure our storage solutions meet the business requirements. He/She will also support and manage our Storage Area Network switches and associated solutions.

Responsibilities include:

Architecture:

  • Interact with server, database, and network Infrastructure teams to architect storage solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Understanding of cloud storage technologies.

Administration and Monitoring:

  • Review storage requests for approval and provision storage resources.

  • Monitor changes for accuracy and system impact.

  • Monitor system performance and analyze trends for problem investigation and resolution.

  • Create reports on storage usage for capacity planning analysis.

  • Assist with hardware and software evaluation and installation planning which may include working with the physical equipment.

  • Monitor and manage data replication mirror solution.

  • Monitor and maintain backup storage solutions.

  • Monitor and manage a Brocade SAN switch environment.

Management:

  • Project and people management skills.

  • Interact with vendors for scheduling maintenance and repair.

  • Address with vendors all identified vulnerability issues. Document status and monitor for escalated resolution.

  • Plan and support storage requirements for scheduled disaster recovery tests.

  • Document and maintain updates on all storage procedures.

  • Create and manage storage change requests using ServiceNow.

Candidate Qualifications include:

  • BS/BA degree in computer science or related work experience required.

  • Must have 5+ year experience as a storage administrator for distributed open systems platform.

  • Hands on experience with Hitachi Vantara VSP storage platforms.

  • Hands on experience managing and administering changes using Hitachi data replication software Hitachi Universal Replicator (HUR).

  • Hands on storage allocation experience including creating LUNs and Host Groups.

  • Experience using CCI and scripting tools.

  • Experience using Hitachi OpsCenter to monitor and manage system performance.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot problems.

  • Data Collection of Storage subsystem data.

  • Experience using and managing backup storage solutions (Dell EMC Data Domain, IBM Spectrum Protect, Cobalt Iron).

  • Experience with Brocade SAN's zoning storage, creating maps and tunnels.

  • Experience with Brocade BNA and SanNav tools for monitoring performance and troubleshooting problems.

  • A person that is organized, detail oriented and has strong reviewing skills with a high degree of accuracy.

  • The applicant must be willing to on weekends to support production changes and other support requirements and provide 24 x 7 production support coverage.

  • There may be infrequent occasions when the individual may have to travel to one of our domestic data centers.

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge of HDS VSP storage system hardware.

  • Hands on experience using Hitachi's storage management software.

  • Knowledge of Brocade SAN and Replication switch hardware.

  • Hands on experience using Brocades SAN management software

  • Knowledge of Pure Storage systems. Hands on experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Powershell scripting.

  • Strong Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and ServiceNow skills a plus.

Salary Range

135,000 - 155,000 USD (Jersey City)

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
