Overview

TRC's National Energy Siting and Permitting Practice is seeking to grow our successful transmission and renewables siting and permitting practice. As part of that growth, TRC is seeking a senior level consultant in the Texas area to lead siting and permitting efforts for transmission and renewables projects. Candidates interested should have a minimum of 5 years' experience with preparation and support of CCN Applications to the Texas Utilities Commission, and familiarity with ecological, cultural and stormwater permitting protocols and requirements. Additional experience in neighboring states is an advantage.

Candidates should have a basic knowledge of GIS (although not necessarily expert level), broad knowledge of the permitting and construction issues unique to electric transmission projects, be able to use that knowledge to conduct route selection studies, be familiar with basic mapping (e.g., USGS topographic maps and digital aerial photographs), and have good written and oral communication skills. Minimum experience required for this position is 5 years' and at least a bachelor's degree in geography, planning or environmental science (or related fields). Responsibilities

  • Work as part of TRC's siting team on existing and new projects, applying our well tested transmission routing protocols, data management and processing, and report preparation.
  • Fulfil a "seller/do-er" role, using your experience to lead and execute siting, licensing, and permitting of all types of energy facilities, with an initial emphasis on electric transmission.
  • Propose on and manage CCN application projects and be able to testify in front of the Texas Utilities Commission.
  • Manage multiple projects in the region.
  • Prepare and review siting and permitting proposals prepared by our group.
  • Mentor existing and new staff to conduct siting studies and CCN applications.
  • Recruit and grow your own staff as opportunities allow.
  • Attend conferences, meet with clients to expand TRC's siting brand.
  • Coordinate internally with Power, Land Services and the Environmental Regions to bring full-service siting, permitting, ROW and engineering offerings to transmission and renewables clients.
  • Abide by Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Environmental/Earth Science, Environmental Planning or other related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience with CCN Applications in Texas.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with supervision from a Manager.
  • Should be able to manage multiple projects needs concurrently, and in a time-sensitive manner.
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills to work as a member of a larger siting and permitting team to complete project task

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $55,000 - $115,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $55,020.00 - USD $126,880.00 /Yr.
