As the Manager, Product Development– Commercial (CT) and Utility Trucks (UTE) for the Mid-Atlantic Region, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging customers that rent light trucks, utility trucks and utility trailers at scale in the infrastructure, government, transit and adjacent markets.

Your focus will be to increase the company's market share and grow key strategic accounts within the Region through a consultative and solutions-based sales approach. You will use sales strategy and product knowledge to establish new customers and develop existing relationships. You will work in conjunction with local and national sales and management teams responsible for growing CT & UTE revenue within their assigned area or targeted accounts.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as a subject matter expert based on manufacturing, operational and sales experience in the utility industry to provide guidance internally and with customers.

  • Target and focus on the development of the CT & UTE product and service offerings for assigned/targeted customers, customer segments, applicable assigned geography, and corresponding branches, districts, and regions to drive incremental profitable growth.

  • Develop, formulate and present strategic fleet solutions and full value of offerings to customers based on individual needs.

  • Partner with key internal sales roles to identify vertical growth areas, provide product familiarization and monitor and prospect projects.

  • Prospect and qualify new strategic accounts from existing branch accounts, dormant or non-customer accounts, including competitor accounts.

  • Work closely with District and Branch operations and sales leaders in promoting the full offering in commercial and utility line of business.

  • Partner with key resources to develop a training structure for sales staff, focusing on product familiarization.  

  • Utilize company software such as Sales Force.com and other CRM Tools to provide visibility and monitor productivity.

  • Understand market trends, competitors, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business expansion and communicate effectively to key stakeholders.

  • Support the overall efforts and closely partner with Key Accounts and Strategic Account Managers, to drive regional and branch account revenue.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education

  • 7+ years of sales management experience with large accounts, preferably in light/medium duty truck rental or utility industries

  • Must have experience (manufacturing, operations, sales) working in utility industry

  • Strong networking and sales lead development skills with ability to influence decision makers  

  • Excellent leadership, customer service, communication, presentation, negotiation and research skills

  • Ability to work independently & highly motivated to succeed

  • Proficiency in Salesforce and/or other similar sales data/technology tools and familiarity of FW Dodge and MS Office

  • Current valid driver's license with a safe driving record

  • Ability to travel 70% within assigned territory
