Level 3 Operator Requirements - Phoenix

1. Ability to do proper quality bag checks and know how to make adjustments if necessary.

Bag checks must be performed every hour (weight and size tolerance)

• Sign off on each bag check performed

1. Ability to read production sheets and make adjustments as necessary on lines.

Production sheets indicate the following information:

• box size
• color of bags
• length/width of bags
• seal type
• count
• labels - how to read labels and their correct placements on finished cases.
• weight of case, purpose for weighing cases
  • indicates proper gauge - correct bag count - correct case weight
• blend of material - Must check for blend compliance

1. Ability to make boxes if required
2. Ability to keep color meters and repro hoppers filled with proper material
3. Uses quality stamp properly and consistently
4. Stacks finished goods properly on pallets, and completes pallet tag before sending to finished good staging area.
5. Ability to operate scanners efficiently and accurately to perform put away of production
6. Ability to perform sub inventory transfers of Raw materials
7. Ability to read production schedule. Provides information on what will be produced next on the extruder line.
8. Thread rope or plastic through tower
9. Knowledge of operation of safety ropes, light curtains and doors on nips, bag machines and separators
10. Put air in webs, when to put air in webs
11. Know how, when and why to cut air out of webs
12. Set gussets and line up folders
13. Ability in putting up a production extruder line with NO Assistance

• form bubble and tie on rope at the die
• pull rope through the tower
• pull plastic to thread bag machine/separator
• make bag size changes

1. Able to train employees on threading bag machines and separators in a safe manner
2. Basics of ON/OFF switches on bag machine and separator
3. Weigh and record all scrap properly
4. Maintains assigned work area and keeps it clean and orderly.
5. Follows company safety guidelines, policies and procedures. Examples to include:

• Proper lifting techniques
• Uses the correct tools for the job i.e. safety knife/protective gloves
• Shutting down machinery when necessary

1. Wears all required personal protective equipment; safety shoes, glasses and hearing protection.
2. Maintains good attendance to work
3. Attends monthly plant huddle meetings
4. Assists co-workers when needed
5. Must pass written and hands on test for Operator 3
6. Ability to perform a change over any of the extruders with NO Assistance
