Job Description

This Surety Specialist role provides services to the Surety Underwriting team to support the business strategies and contribute to the overall unit's success. The main focus of the job relates to handling agency management functions and providing documents needed in the bond.

What YOU will do:

    Act as a liaison for Surety in managing producer appointments.
  • Prepare Powers of Attorney for producers and internal employees, adhering to the corporate standards for quality and service. Includes securing wet signatures as needed.
  • Handle Power of Attorney filings as needed.
  • Manage attorney-in-fact information on third party platforms.
  • Manage the producer termination process.
  • Create and maintain producer database for use in communication blasts.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of corporate seals and provide to producers as requested.
  • Coordinate responses to bond verification inquiries.
  • Maintain proper file documentation.
  • Communicate with underwriters, producers and other business units to obtain or provide information necessary to perform job functions.
  • Maintain original indemnity agreements in Morristown, NJ.
  • Maintain copies of documents used by Surety, such as Certificates of Authority, Certificates of Solvency, New Jersey Disclosure Statement, financial statements, and other documents as necessary and/or required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Three to five years of agency management experience within the insurance industry is preferred.
  • Possess a high level of technical acumen.
  • Demonstrates initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a multi-task environment.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel.

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $44,000.00 to a maximum of $73,400.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
