Job Responsibilities:

The DB2 Engineering group within Middleware Engineering is responsible for the architecture and engineering of the DB2 environments for ADP. This position is for a DB2 Engineer who would be responsible for:

* Planning, coordinating and implementing DBMS upgrades, major releases and fixes
* Establishing and maintaining standards for releases of all database-related rollouts
* Providing additional required database environments across operating platforms
* Providing leadership, organization and direction to the technical group that reports to this position
* Developing and implementing Database Release migration methodology and Change management processes to support new DBMS products
* Providing formal Project management responsibilities for internal projects as well as the DBMS portion of other functional area projects.

QualificationsRequired
(Experience, Skills, Academic):
Qualifications:

* 10+ years DBMS Experience with DB2 products (V7 through V9)
* 3+ years DB2Connect a plus
* 12 - 16 years data processing experience
* Experience in an MVS-z/OS environment
* Expertise in JCL and utilities
* Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Must possess a strong work ethic and be willing/available to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to complete assigned tasks and projects.
* Must be a team player who freely and openly shares work related information with co-workers.
* Must be open to others suggestions and must be willing to provide input.
* Must be comfortable supporting and working closely with, in a professional manner, cross functional teams comprised of personnel from Operations, Development, Quality Assurance, and End user communities.
* Must be available to provide 24x7 on-call support to troubleshoot and resolve system problems of a complex nature
* Must possess a knowledge of Microsoft office products, Visio, PowerPoint and effectively utilizing these tools to develop system documentation such as run books, system topology diagrams, hardware/software specifications.
* Must be capable of working effectively in a fast-paced demanding environment
* Must be able to prioritize and effectively manage time supporting multiple concurrent efforts

* IBM DB2 Certifications are desirable
