This role has a current pay range of $75,000 - $115,000. The listed pay range represents the company's good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base rate of pay for this position at the time of this posting. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on their work location, qualifications, relevant experience, operational needs, demonstrated performance over time, and internal pay alignment. Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in overseeing the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, including inventory accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, account reconciliation, journal entries, and invoicing. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of accounting professionals, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial analysis and accounting support to Eagle Point's Director of Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of inventory accounting:

  • Implement and maintain accurate customer inventory.
  • Record inventory and product movements for all customers.
  • Review physical to book inventory and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Work with the operations team to identify and resolve any inventory issues.

Perform comprehensive financial analysis:

  • Analyze financial statements and identify trends and variances.
  • Prepare/review financial forecasts with the operations team.
  • Develop and present financial reports to management.

Develop and manage budgets:

  • Participate and lead the development of departmental budgets.
  • Monitor budget performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Analyze variances and adjust as needed.

Reconcile monthly and quarterly account variances:

  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of assigned accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies.

Prepare accurate and timely journal entries:

  • Prepare and post monthly expense and revenue journal entries as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Maintain a clear and concise audit trail

Manage the invoicing process:

  • Create and issue invoices accurately and on time.
  • Review contracts and perform any necessary rate changes and escalations.
  • Be a point of contact for customer invoice disputes and help maintain positive customer relations.

Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals:

  • Provide training and development opportunities
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Maintain a positive and productive team environment.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, account reconciliation, journal entries, invoicing, and other close responsibilities.
  • Experience with SAP a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with financial analysis preferred.
  • CPA certification or Master's degree a plus.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
