Job Information:


Summary:

Supervises, coordinates, and oversees the technical activities of the department(s).

Responsible for financial, human resource and quality management activities of the department.

Serves as primary liaison for lab to the campus OMG.

Position Responsibilities:

* Supervises all technical operations of the Laboratory and non-hospital outreach clients serviced through their department/location.

* Responsible for compliance of all operations to appropriate regulatory and accreditation agencies.

* Monitors financial performance through finance reports, adjusts operations to meet financial targets and operationalizes process and technology changes for greater efficiency.

* Manages staff by monitoring technical competencies and nurtures behavioral development through enforcement of STAR standards.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

Must have a good general knowledge of laboratory technology in all disciplines and familiarity with regulatory requirements.

Good organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary.

Must be able to develop and understand budget and statistical records related to their laboratory's operation.

A minimum of 5 years of management experience is preferred.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree (BS) in laboratory sciences.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

Valid registration as a Medical Technologist or equivalent, or meets CLIA88 requirements for high complexity testing.

Master's degree is desirable.

ASCP certification preferred.

Valid driver's license may be required.
