Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Transport utility poles from manufacturing plants to customers throughout the South East and North East United States.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
  • Interact with dispatcher to plan routes and meet delivery schedules
  • Interaction with customers and contractors.
  • Abide by electronic logging device.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods etc.) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • During emergencies/storms, on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week including holidays.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear for long periods of time. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. The ability to drive long hours and travel regularly is required.
Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Class A CDL tractor-trailer experience
  • Valid CDL License
  • Valid DOT Medical Card

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • No recent moving or driving violations.
  • No recent drug/alcohol convictions or pending charges
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Ability to perform minor truck maintenance
  • Ability to travel out of state for extended periods
