Job Description

The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager/Director, is responsible for the day to day monitoring of technician work performance, maintenance of pharmacist and technician schedule in Kronos, as well as, payroll data entry into system. The Supervisor will monitor technician staff compliance with established policy amp; procedures. This includes but is not limited to compliance with documentation in compounding logs, Acudose/ Omnicell CDS dispensing and detection of diversionary activity. The Technician Supervisor is responsible for ordering medications to ensure appropriate inventory control (Pharmacy and Acudose/Omnicell), compliance with the wholesaler and group purchasing organization contracts, as well as, other functions associated with product procurement and movement. He/ she is responsible to maintain accurate and organized records of all purchasing transactions. The Technician Supervisor will also manage return vendor activities to ensure the timely removal/return of outdated pharmaceutical products and annual inventory valuation. Other duties include, but are not limited to, participation in monthly cycle counts and nursing station inspections, maintenance of floor-stock inventory and billing, prepares monthly usage reports, Robot inventory management, system direct purchasing, unit dose packaging, specialized medication preparation and will also be required to perform regular technician functions as listed in the Certified Pharmacy Technician job description.

Ability to read and communicate in the English language. High School graduate or equivalent required. Current registration with Pharmacy Technician Certification Board as a Certified Pharmacy Technician 5 yearsrsquo; prior hospital pharmacy experience with ability to identify priorities and adjust work habits to address them. Interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral) required in order to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Demonstration of organizational skills and ability to keep accurate, orderly records. Working knowledge of common software applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
