Job Description

The Finance and Risk Data Information Architect Strategist will partner with the Enterprise Chief Data Office (ECDO), Finance data providers and consumers, and Finance stakeholders to formulate our strategy for data governance tooling, data management and definitions and associated workflows within Genesis (the Finance Reporting Data Warehouse) and across Global Functions Technology (GFT) at large. The Information Architect Strategist will ensure that Genesis and GFT will meet the data governance and control implementation directives set by Citi's Data Governance Policy and the Firm's Data Operating Model.

The Information Architecture will define the strategic workflow and tooling that our Genesis and Global Functions Technology (GFT) logical and physical data modeling teams with use to provide data governance for the Finance and Risk applications. In this aspect of their role, the candidate will provide technical leadership, training and mentoring to ensure the Data Governance Teams in GFT become effective data modelers and data governance experts. The candidate will share their deep expertise of Genesis and GFT Systems and the data management practices at Citi and the industry. The Information Architecture strategist will leverage their business knowledge to help formulate the data concept taxonomy. The candidate will participate in ECDO data governance committees to recommend and validate recommended data concepts. The candidate will need to champion GFT, Finance and Risk requirements ensuring that their needs are incorporated into the taxonomy.

The Information Architecture will work with the Finance and Risk Data Architecture group to deliver strategy, frameworks and toolsets that focus on areas such as data quality rules and controls, data lineage and metadata management, data wrangling, data access layers and data analytics tooling. Additionally, the Information Architect strategist will work to promote Agile development practices and methodologies to the team to drive database management automation and metadata capture as code.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate the strategic information architecture strategy and approach for Finance and Risk Systems in GFT
  • Define the with business concept taxonomy for Finance and Risk applications partnering the Citi's Enterprise Data Governance and Chief Data Office teams
  • Define a modern information architecture framework and workflow that integrates GFT systems and Citi's Firmwide systems together
  • Establish metadata management principles and practices for GFT applications in their day-to-day activities

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Technology, software development and Information Architecture.
  • 12+ years of Financial Services experience, including at least 10 years in Banking with Focus on Finance, Risk and/or Regulatory Reporting
  • 12+ years of system development lifecycle (SDLC) experience with complex data and hands-on experience in building and operating data management practices at scale
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in different technologies like Collibra, Solidatus, DataHub, Erwin, MagicDraw and/or other metadata tooling.
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile and DevOps practices
  • Expert knowledge and demonstrated thought leadership in Data Architecture disciplines including logical and physical Data Modeling, Data Governance, Metadata Management and Data Quality Management
  • Demonstrate the ability to partner strategically with internal and external technology partners
  • Demonstrated facility to interact and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Solid understanding of Finance and Risk business processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership in both business and technology.
